The business idea arose out of a necessity and love towards the grandchild. When the boy was found to be allergic to cow’s milk, Semion Stanev from the town of Ceadyr-Lunga he himself tried to produce cheeses for his child, but only from goat’s milk. When he succeeded, he decided to do a business of that kind to help other people suffering from the same allergy, but also to come with a new product on the market. ZIS and done.

In 2019Stanev Semion created company. However, experience in cheesemaking has accumulated some years earlier. As a craftsman, he went to Italy in 2014, where he had the opportunity to visit and work at a kashkaval factory. He ‘stolen’ the secrets of the preparation from there and then opened a similar mine at home at the south-west of the country. That’s how it came into being the kashkaval turns out to be made by Semion Stanev.

European funding has been of great help in running the small business. The entrepreneur received a grant under the PARE 1 + 1 programmethrough which it renovated the production hall and equipped it with the necessary work. Financial support from THE EU he was vital to Semion Stanev’s work. Of the money provided, a vacuum packaging machine, boiler for the production of kashkaval, pasteuriser, cold room, cheese moulds and a specialised technological mass were purchased.

Before the pandemic, his products were frequently seen at fairs and exhibitions. However, the COVID-19 crisis has led it to adapt to new conditions and trends, and it has begun to trade online. In the future, the entrepreneur plans to invest in procuring new machinery to automate production processes. This will ensure it has more products, but also competitiveness on the market and the possibility to access external markets. Hopes that the small family business will soon become a major name on the cheese market in Romania and abroad.

The “PARE 1 + 1” Economic Discharge Programme operates under the “1 + 1” rule – each leu invested from the candidate’s remittances is replaced by a grant leu from the programme. Grant beneficiaries may be citizens of the Republic of Moldova working abroad and their first-degree relatives. The programme is financed from the state budget and co-financed by European Union funds.
