Project description
Within the project, ODIMM will contribute to the coordination of activities related to the acceleration, design, adoption and development of sustainable tourism solutions.
In particular, the project has selected 3 areas of intervention: reducing food waste in the tourism sector; creating plastic reduction offers and rethinking packaging across the supply chain; engaging in rational and collaborative consumption.
Project aim: To develop innovative solutions for sustainable tourism development through transnational cooperation, knowledge transfer and the adoption of circular business models in MSIs.
Project objectives:
To develop the regulatory framework to implement circular economy principles in the tourism industry. Implementation of knowledge building actions and adoption of an effective support scheme for MSMEs.
To support skills, knowledge and competences to develop innovative circular economy solutions by rethinking business models, diversifying their products and services.
Implementing circular model solutions, in particular through cross-sectoral cooperation in tourism and involving communities of good practice.
Networking of institutions, which will collaborate in support schemes to promote the circular economy among MSMEs in the tourism sector.
Promote the exchange of best practices at local and international level in the context of replication of sustainable business support schemes.
5 European countries (Italy, Spain, Northern Macedonia, Moldova and Greece) are participating in the project, supporting the development of circular economy innovation in the transition system, in particular through the enhancement of supply chains and symbiosis.
The participation of enterprises in the CEnTOUR Project will be possible according to the provisions of the Selection Regulation, valid for the application period 27 July 2021 - 29 September 2021:

CEnTOUR Project - Circular Economy in Tourism
Project co-funded under the EU Competitiveness Programme for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises - COSME, which implements a support and capacity building scheme for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the tourism sector.
Implementation period: 16.09.2020 - 15.09.2023 (36 months)

According to the project action plan, partners will announce the call for selection of 68 MSMEs in the tourism sector. From the Republic of Moldova, 12 MSIs will benefit from grants for a total amount of 49 200 EURO:
Total budget: 1,329,358 EURO
EU contribution: 102,338 EURO
Activities eligible for funding:
Participation costs in activities organised by the project consortium (study visits, entrepreneurship training, local events);
registration and accommodation for external events organised outside the consortium (main event at European level);
documentation adaptations, certification costs and standardisation data collection according to feasibility.
