Where flowers flourish there is hope
The flowers have beautified their garden, but also their lives. Ion Bodolică and his wife, in addition to the family, also share a common activity. This is the small business they started three years ago. Young people plan to expand their business, and this will be possible thanks to participation in the the Cahul Local Outline Partnership project.
He married and then went abroad in search of a better income. Bodolică ion from Colibași village, Cahul he was convinced that he would return home to continue building the business initiated with the chosen heart. In fact, it was also she who kicked off. Coming from a flower family, he decided to continue the habit when setting up his own home. Thus, Mr and Mrs Bodolică planted on land with an area of more than one hectare various types of plant, such as: bitten, turnip, crash, Petunia, viola, surfina, lion mouth, cyclomen. The money earned abroad has been invested in the business, but it is still not enough. So participation in the Cahul Plateau Partnership which gave them the chance to sign up to the programme “Start for Young People” it was an opportunity to grow their business. Thanks to the non-refundable funding, the couple will build two modern greenhouses equipped with those needed to grow plants in any season. This will allow them to increase productivity.
Nowadays, entrepreneurs sell their products in a butic in the city of Cahul. And while we live a year of challenges, Ion says their business was not affected by the pandemic, but on the contrary, sales and orders turned out to be more fruitful than ever.
But profit did not cause them to forget altruism. Young entrepreneurs are used to donating flowers for the development of parks, churches and plots in neighbouring villages.
The implementation of the investment project was made possible by cooperation between the Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODIMM) and the International Labour Organisation (ILO). 11 businesses initiated by young people and women in the Cahul district were financially supported as a result of this Local Partnership for Employment.
