Vasile Tataru is among the 59 entrepreneurs who have recently benefited from grants offered through support programmes managed by the Organisation for Entrepreneurship Development.
Three years ago, the boat, which is a experienced wine grower, has transformed its household of the Pitușca vate, the Călărași rione, into a cram, which has soon become an attraction for tourists. Through the “Greening Programme for Small and Medium Enterprises”, the entrepreneur received a grant of more than RON 220 thousand from the European Union. Want to build a wastewater treatment plant and household waste, estimated at approximately lei 300 thousand. The remainder of money, around RON 80 thousand, is the personal contribution.
“When it is such a large investment, without a European grant, I think I could not cope with spending”, said the entrepreneur.
The construction of the treatment plant will enable Vasile Tataru to expand his business. It is now planning to build a new wine production section and want to export its production, including to the European market.
The European Union is a reliable partner supporting ODA efforts in developing the SME sector in the Republic of Moldova.
A direct grant contract was signed last spring, whereby the European Union allocated EUR 8 million (approximately RON 160 million) to finance seven support programmes managed by the Organisation for Entrepreneurship Development.
Since the launch of the project, 119 investment projects have been supported by EU funds and the total amount of grants awarded totalled lei 63.5 million.
