Ambition goes beyond any barrier and there are no limits when talking about dreams. Dina Cosovan from the town of Sângerei he started a business at 62 years. It was inspired by the taste of over Prut. He was conquered by the carpets, cocoons and pies prepared there, so he managed to bring them to the north of the country, specifically the town of Sângerei. Thus, the woman opened a pretzel where she retraces the true Romanian taste.

The idea of having a business first emerged and then the activity of its own. Dina Cosovan with her husband they want to bring their children back home abroad. They wanted to build a business to motivate them to return and work in their country. Frequent visits to friends in Romania inspired Mr and Mrs Cosovan. They then queried the habit of crossing the Prut more often, but this time to study the prescriptions of the specialists there. They returned home with the idea of doing business and also started business just a few days before COVID-19 quarantine was put in place across the country. They had to stop working only recently, but managed to resume it shortly afterwards. “Such an initial stalemate decepts you, but does not make you give up”, testify to the woman. So he did not leave the hands down, but put him on the job.

He continued to fight for his dream, despite the setbacks not to disappoint the institutions that supported him. The business has received a European grant under the The Women in Business Programme, this was an enormous contribution. From the money received, the woman procured the necessary machinery for production and attended specialised courses in Romania. “We are grateful for the financial support provided by the EU and we want to develop the business to be a cause for pride. Finally, the aim is to excuse the means, so any weight must be drawn into the opportunity”noted Dina Cosovan.

The work of the pastry is now well underway. The woman plans to expand the business and wants her products to reach as many locations as possible in the city of Sângerei, including schools.

The Women in Business programme was launched in autumn 2016 with the objective of promoting the economic and social ability of women in rural areas by reducing gender inequality, business growth and development, changing the perception of innovation, increasing access to resources, services and technologies. The programme is financed from the state budget and co-financed by EU funds.
