A passion from childhood has now become a business. INA lie from Slobozia Mare, Cahul started a business in the textile industry and produces knitted and crocheted clothes. Plans, however, to also sell artisanal felt accessories online and at specialised fairs.
She inherited work from her family, grandmother and mother, but it was her sister who taught her to cut. It has thus remained a hobby from childhood until five years ago, when it turned it into an activity from which it also makes a profit. Cutting and knitting by hand, but also by means of a semi-automatic sewing machine.
Due to participation in the project Local Ocupare Cahul Partnershipthe young person will receive a grant through the Programme “Women in Business” by which it will procure a special tool for processing felt and another for gluing soles on footwear made of this type of material.
Blouses, cardigans, shirts, scarves and shoesall of the felt is to be found in the list of items that the bread company will produce. With the development of the business through the grant, the entrepreneur wants to hire more staff and the products to reach shops in the country as well as abroad. Not least to participate in fairs, but also online visibility, which has now become essential for any business.
The woman says that participating in the project means making a huge contribution to expanding her business, because she would never have been able to obtain the necessary machinery with her own money. But now Ina will be able to remember its customers with new products, but also to access new markets.
The implementation of the investment project was made possible by cooperation between the Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODIMM) and the International Labour Organisation (ILO). 11 businesses initiated by young people and women in the Cahul district were financially supported as a result of this Local Partnership for Employment.
