In the north of Moldova in Pocrovca’s municipality, there are the findings of POCROV EXPORT fruct SRL, a living example of development and perseverance.
“We set up the company in 2017 when we started to plan for cirses, followed by zmede and meals of different varieties, and since we are expanding continuously,” says Vasilii Harchevici, the company’s director.
Today, Pocrov Exportfruct is spread around 40 hectares and the team, consisting of 30 permanent and seasonal employees, is a living example of economic and social sustainability.
Over time, the evidence in Dondușeni has faced major challenges, including the protracted drought in recent years.
“Was hard, the fruit has not been very rich,” recognises the entrepreneur.
However, the future has started to show more promising thanks to the Greening Programme for Small and Medium Enterprises, funded by the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the European Union, through the Organisation for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA).
The company accessed the programme and obtained a grant of lei 500000, funded by the European Union, invested in implementing a modern irrigation system.
“With this money, we have built an irrigation system for our knowledge,” explains Vasilii Harchevici, company director.
Thanks to this financial support, the company managed to ensure efficient irrigation of existing crops and double its cultivated area.
“We started with 22 hectares and thanks to this grant we have planted a further 20 hectares,” underlines the entrepreneur.
For POCROV EXPORTfruct, the impact of greening goes beyond business borders. It is about offering the community a better life, safe jobs and growth prospects.

The greening programme for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, funded by the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the European Union through ODA, represents strategic support for companies in the agri-food sector and beyond. By investing in green solutions, such as modern irrigation systems, companies benefit from increased efficiency, reducing environmental impacts and creating sustainable models for the future.
In agriculture, this programme differentiates between stagnation and development. Thanks to these initiatives, business such as POCROV EXPORT I not only survive the challenges, but expands its horizons, actively contributing to a greener and more prosperous future for all.
