Success history – Stainable Recycline – Chisinau
Cristina Tocari, just 26 years, has become an example of entrepreneurial success in Moldova. Is beneficiary of the Digital Innovation and Startup Support Programme Technology, implemented by ODA.
The young is managing an innovative business in Chisinau, which transforms PET and plastic containers into unique jewellery and more recently into sustainable furniture parts.
The story of Cristina started in 2022, after the University of Strasbourg, France. It was convinced that it would be able to build a sustainable future and contribute to the country’s economic development. This gave rise to the “Recycline” project – an initiative that combines creativity with environmental responsibility.
The main objective of Cristin is to minimise plastic waste and promote a cleaner and safer environment for the community. Thanks to its commitment, the Recycline business has undergone significant development.
In early 2024, Cristina received a non-repayable grant of more than 248 thousand lei via ODA, which it used to purchase an advanced set of recycling machines.
State-of-the-art equipment has enabled an entrepreneur to increase productivity and optimise the quality of finished products, enabling it to expand its product supply and attract new market segments.
In innovative spirit, Cristina Tocari continues to expand its range of products produced from recyclable materials, exploring new selling markets that strengthen its position on the local and international markets.
We would point out that, via the Digital Innovation and Startup Support Programme, grants totalling lei 14.4 million were awarded to 34 companies, via the two editions carried out so far.
Most of these companies are active in the Information and Communications sector.
THIS PROGRAMME IS IMPLEMENTED BY ODA, WITH THE FINANCIAL SUPPORT OF UKRAINE-MOLDOVA AMERICAN ENTERPRISE FUND IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE VULT TECHNOLOGY PROJECT, FUNDED BY THE USAID, SWEDEN AND THE UNITED KINGDOM.
