Rikipal is a producer of wood pallets in Moldova, but also a major recycler – for ten years it has recycled more than two million pallets, thus deriving from cutting more than 120 thousand trees or over 100 hectares of forests.
Alexandru Cernouțan vis-à-vis the construction of a palleton plant as seen in Romania and for Moldova to join the European Union in order to receive access to EU funds and the selling market. The entrepreneur said that it wanted to reach a share of 30 % of export sales and Romania is the target market to which it is.
To this end, the company was supported by the World SME Competitiveness Project, implemented by ODA, to conduct a market study in Romania, as well as for the procurement of new equipment needed in the production process – a compressor and a compressed air drier. Previously, the project also financed the creation of the visual identity of Rikipal.
The PARE 1+ 2 programme received a grant for the purchase of a stivuitor, and from the repowering programme implemented by ODA, secured a semi-atorage of pallets production machine. Alexandru Cernouțan said that this had felt State support for the development of its business.
The SME Growth and Internationalisation Programme, managed by the Enterprise Development Organisation, grants up to lei 600 thousand for services that will improve the export capacity of Moldovan companies – from strategic advice to marketing, market studies or branding of new products. Low-value machinery can also be purchased from the programme, which will help increase the competitiveness of Moldovan companies.
