“Much of our work is focused on informing people, educating people for a healthy lifestyle. We also produce ready-to-eat packages that we deliver at home. SRL “Verdeviu” is a social enterprise employing more than 50 people from socially vulnerable strata and people with disabilities.’

The business idea, registered in 2017, arose out of a desire to involve children with disabilities in the activity. Once they expanded, they took the decision to hire additional people with special needs.

“From the very beginning, we wanted to set up a business in which we could also involve our children, who are children with disabilities. I thought the business so that they could also participate, play an active role in our organisation. This gave rise to the idea of employing other people who, for certain reasons, cannot take up employment. Depending on the workload, we will employ other people with special needs.”

In addition to the fact that, “Health 'n Green Live” it offers environmentally-friendly products to consumers, as well as psychological and emotional advice. It also has a strong focus on informing and educating the population, promoting a healthy lifestyle. Recently, products are also increasingly demanded by diaspora. For its products, Lucia Gavrilița it uses the wheat grass that it considers the elixium of health – which is the strongest detoxifier of the liver found in nature, and other green plants containing substances needed by the body.

“There are other companies that produce such products, but we are very much focused on counselling, psychological support, emotional support for people who want to adopt a different lifestyle from the previous one. Recently, more and more people are also asking for our products abroad. In the future, we plan to package our products so that we export them more easily.”

The activity of the company founded by Lucia Gavrilița it makes a particularly important contribution to society. Here, people with disabilities have the chance to get a job, become more active and socially engaged.

“I think what we do now is very important. Persons with disabilities have the opportunity to integrate into the world of work. With our example, we also hope to encourage other parents with children with disabilities to set up their own family business involving children.

Social entrepreneurship, for me, means being able to offer jobs to those who cannot engage, to focus on products that can bring a real benefit to society.”

Founder of the social enterprise SRL “VERDEVIU” considers that social entrepreneurship has a future in the Republic of Moldova and hopes that more and more entrepreneurs will opt for activities with an impact on society.

“Several concrete steps have been taken in recent years to support social affairs and I hope that this kind of activities will be increasingly developed in the Republic of Moldova. When we have more, stronger social enterprises, things will change a lot. Trends show that we are moving towards a society where the government will pay more attention to organisations and entrepreneurs trying to make a positive contribution to society.”

Even if it is already doing so social activity, Lucia Gavrilița it is not seen as a hero, but as a simple person who has tried to help their children. In view of this, a social business must have a much greater impact.

“I think social entrepreneurs are heroes of society, they are motivated people fighting to achieve their goal. Personally, I don’t see myself as a hero, because our business started with the idea of helping our children. However, a social business must have a much greater social impact.”
