Development opportunities through ODA for young entrepreneurs
Find out the story of a young entrepreneur, which, through ambition and perseverance, successfully manages the legacy business from parents. Diana Bătrcea is 30 years old and one year has become the owner of a hotel in Chișinău. It worked several years abroad, also in hotels, and its experience and money invested in the capital repair of the accommodation unit, built by parents already in 2003.
The hotel has four floors, has 20 rooms, a restaurant and a summer break. Thanks to efficient management, shortly after taking over the business, the accommodation became very popular, with more than 1000 customers flowing in just one year.
Hotel is now in the process of development and enlargement. The owner has recently received a grant of more than lei 140 thousand from the State, under the Start Youth Programme implemented by the Organisation for Entrepreneurship Development. The business women wanted to install solar panels on the hotel roof in order to reduce electricity bills costs. The total value of the investment amounts to RON 240 thousand and also includes the staff contribution amounting to RON 100 thousand.
The Antreprenosis recognises – at the beginning of the beginning it has many challenges and barriers to overcome, but state support gives it a dose of optimism and motivation to pursue the way forward.
The Start ODA programme for Youth, funded by the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the European Union, is intended for entrepreneurs aged 18 to 35, who can access grants of up to RON 200 thousand to start a business. So you do not hesitate to apply to this funding programme.
It should be noted that, since the beginning of last year, 185 small- and medium-sized enterprises have received non-repayable financial support through this programme. The total value of grants amounts to more than lei 31 million and investment in the national economy exceeds lei 140 million.
