Back home with big plans and the idea of a paper business
He worked abroad for three years, but returned home to build a better future for his loved ones. Nicolai Mocăneț from the village of Cristești, Nisporeni and —launched a business in the field of wood packaging production. Coming from an area where agriculture is quite developed, he decided to cover the need on the market, i.e. to offer wooden crates and pallets to farmers for collecting and keeping the pavement.
The business idea came from the first. The young person has established contracts and partnerships with farmers throughout the country, not just in the region. Depending on the type of fruit, the contractor produces packaging of different sizes, also taking into account certain parameters.
Entrepreneurial activity has been financially supported by The European Union by means of PARE 1 + 1 programmemanaged by ODIMM. From the grant accessed, the beneficiary procured the necessary machinery to produce the wood packaging. Thanks to European support, it has managed to increase both production capacity and quality. He is grateful to support institutions for the support provided, saying that he has an additional motivation to choose to stay at home and develop.
Any contribution is a step forward, even if unpredictable difficulties also arise in the meantime. The pandemic and drought have had a major negative impact on the entrepreneur’s business. When farmers suffer, Nicolai’s work is also lost. However, the fact that he had very few sales did not demotivate him but, on the contrary, made him more ambitious. Hopes that the period ahead will be more productive and profitable, as it is ready to overcome any failure with its open chest.
The “PARE 1 + 1” Economic Discharge Programme operates under the “1 + 1” rule – each leu invested from the candidate’s remittances is replaced by a grant leu from the programme. Grant beneficiaries may be citizens of the Republic of Moldova working abroad and their first-degree relatives. The programme is financed from the state budget and co-financed by European Union funds.
