Young entrepreneurs can take over the experience of European business people, working for up to 6 months together
Novice entrepreneurs from the Republic of Moldova have the opportunity to gain skills to run or develop a small business by working alongside an experienced entrepreneur from another country for a period of 1-6 months. This possibility is offered by the European Commission’s Programme Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs. The participation costs of entrepreneurs are covered according to the country of the host entrepreneur. For example, if a new entrepreneur from RM were to leave for Romania, the monthly amount to be paid to him is EUR 560, in Germany EUR 830, in Italy and France EUR 900, in the United Kingdom EUR 1 000. Funding comes from the budget of the EU Programme for the Competitiveness of Enterprises and SMEs 2014-20120 (COSME).
In order to participate in the exchange programme, new and experienced entrepreneurs must apply using the online tool and choose their preferred local contact point. The local contact point acts as a guide and contact point throughout the process. The Republic of Moldova currently does not have a contact point, so domestic entrepreneurs have the option to turn, for example, to the contact points in Romania.
Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs it is considered one of the most successful COSME programmes due to its positive influence on stimulating innovative business practices, developing new products and services, strengthening the transfer of know-how and knowledge. The evaluations found that around 30 % of participants subsequently launched their own businesses. More than 4500 exchanges have taken place since its launch and by 2020 the target is 10 thousand.
Programme Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs it was launched in 2009 by the European Commission, following an initiative of the European Parliament.
