World Bank continues to support ODSME’s in institutional capacity building
The ODIMM leadership met representatives of the World Bank today. The discussions highlighted the progress made by the MSMEs thanks to the support provided through the Competitiveness Improvement Project (CAP II), which aims to strengthen and develop SMEs in the Republic of Moldova.
The Director-General of ODIMM, Iulia Costin, thanked the mission for its support, in particular in the digitalisation of credit guarantee services for SMEs. “The software tool developed for the Credit Guarantee Fund will allow entrepreneurs to apply for the financial guarantee online and partner banks to submit the guarantee file online.”, said Iulia Costin.
Team leader, senior Private Sector Development Specialist at the World Bank, Tharik Sahovic, showed his openness to further support ODSME institutional capacity building through the digitalisation of processes and services. Expertise and encouragement will also be provided in identifying and supporting export-oriented growth potential enterprises and associated enterprises in clusters. In this context, the interlocutors also discussed the possibilities of complementing the funding of programmes and projects managed by ODIMM.
The World Bank mission, through CAP II, contributes to increasing the competitiveness of Moldovan businesses, in particular small and medium-sized enterprises, by forging links with the market, facilitating access to medium- and long-term finance and improving the business environment.
