Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODSME) from the Republic of Moldova, the Webinar and Workshop on “Human Resources. Employees – key to social affairs”.

The event was supported by Sergiu Gurăusocial entrepreneur and youth worker, Executive Director of the Old People’s Association ‘Eco-Razeni’founder of the first social catering enterprise in the Republic of Moldova — ‘Cireș flower’a company that has opened its doors to employment in the public catering sector for people with disabilities.

Sergiu Gurău spoke about the importance and specificities of employing persons with disabilities in a company. For example, according to Sergiu Gurău, it is very important for them to see the outcome of their work as soon as possible. This was also one of the reasons why people chose the field of activity in the catering sector, or in this sector, they can see, taste, smell the results of their work.

Another particularity of the business he manages is partnerships with leading Moldovan companies. For example, after the training received in the framework of the ‘Cireș flower’two people joined a restaurant at a five-star hotel in Chisinau, Moldova.

Also, his team Sergiu Gurău it also offers on-the-job training services. Accommodation is provided and young people receive a salary for their work at the company. This service was launched following several requests coming from ANOFM, parents, young people, including from regions other than the one where the “Floare de Cireș” operates. This service was launched in the year 2015.

Another important moment is that the focus of the company is on proactive inclusion (from working time, family life, to financial management). The social workers spend a lot of time with the beneficiaries and during the summer the entire team has holidays at sea, in the mountains or in destinations in the Republic of Moldova. Bowling shows are also visited. All these actions are organised to ensure that the beneficiaries enjoy the full benefits of social and economic life.

Recommendations related to human resources management in an insertion social enterprise were also provided during the event.
