Over the past 3 years, the EU has almost completely opened its market to duty-free imports from Moldova. This has provided a great opportunity for Moldovan companies, although not all companies are aware of how they can benefit from this.

The EU is funding a support package for some Moldovan companies to help them understand more how they can benefit from duty-free imports from Moldova and gain greater access to the EU market. This package will be delivered through a technical assistance project (Support for the Quality Infrastructure Framework in the context of the DCFTA (Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area) in the Republic of Moldova), funded by the European Union and implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure.
Who can benefit from this support package
The support will be provided to companies that already export to the EU but want to know more about how to build on their success through a better understanding of the regulations; companies thinking about exporting but not knowing how to start and I think regulations might be too complicated to go beyond. In essence, any company that aims to become more competitive by expanding its activities on the European market.
The support package aims at providing each company with an exact amount of information to the extent that this company needs to benefit from the opening of the European market. Different companies will have different needs because they have had a different level of experience. A team of national and international experts will work with each company and agree on a tailored individual programme. The programme will take the form of a combination of workshops, roundtables and face-to-face discussions. The full implementation of the package will take place over a period of 12 months.
