The state provides new opportunities for young people to develop business at home
94 youth-led companies will receive grants of up to RON 180 thousand from the state to start their own businesses at home. Today 24 December, the Coordination Committee of the The “START for YOUTH: a sustainable business at home” programme approved for funding the investment projects submitted by young entrepreneurs under the fourth call for projects of the programme. 182 companies from all parts of the country applied for the competition, which went through a rigorous selection process. Of the number of companies approved for funding, for 7 investment projects, own contribution of 20 % it will be covered by the International Labour Organisation, within the framework of the Cantemir and Căușeni Local Trade Partnership.
The total amount of grants approved will constitute RON 15.93 millionwhich will help to attract RON 25.70 million invested in the economy. The implementation of youth investment projects will help create around 275 jobs, including 131 for women.
Of the 94 investment projects accepted for funding, 45 businesses are created/run by women. Circa 67 % of businesses created by young people will be in rural areas. The most active municipalities are maybe. Chisinau, UTA Găgăuzia, Căușeni, Ungheni, Cahul, Ștefan-Vodă and Orhei.
The fields of activity of the selected companies concern provision of services (48 %)one-third of business (34 %) will be active in manufacturingand others 13 % of businesses will be active in agriculture and animal husbandry.
An examination of the business projects of the young participants in the programme reveals the ingenuity and innovativeness of the business ideas submitted, such as: prosthesis production centre for upper and lower limbs of the body; production of orthopaedic mattresses; production of vegetable dairy products from nuts and seeds; production of thermal insulation sheets from reeds; manufacture of essential oils, aromatic teas and food supplements from medicinal herbs; manufacture of articles of concrete, granules and marble (paving); the production of environmentally friendly decorative cosmetics;etc.
We recall that The national programme “START FOR YOUTH: a sustainable business at home” it was launched in February 2019 and aims to develop entrepreneurship among young people and encourage business start-ups, particularly in rural areas, by facilitating access to financial resources, training, advice and mentoring in business management and expansion.
During the implementation of the Programme, 1459 young people were trained in entrepreneurship and guided in the design of investment projects, and 300 investment projects were approved for funding, out of which 246 investment projects in the form of a grant and 54 investment projects in the form of Business Voucher. At the same time, 31 Hackathoane were carried out in all regions of the country to stimulate the creativity of young people across the country in generating ideas and identifying the most viable and innovative potential business ideas.
