The government has approved a Business Support Programme with internationalisation potential
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the Business Support Programme with high growth potential and their internationalisation. The programme refers to a complex of activities providing support to MSMEs in order to place themselves in a meaningful business relationship with foreign partners, concerning exports, imports or foreign direct investment in the local market.
The programme provides support to SMEs for the introduction of international practices in order to develop the productivity and competitiveness of domestic businesses. Thus, the MSMEs Programme will provide advisory support, through Business Voucher, of up to RON 100 thousand for the development of the corporate or product image. They will also receive financial support under the ‘Grant’ scheme for the purchase of equipment, machinery, facilities, the procurement of franchises, licences, software, and the purchase of raw materials and materials necessary for the production process.
“The main objectives of the programme are to create a favourable environment for exploiting the current opportunities for the economic development of the Republic of Moldova and to stimulate the business environment by creating new instruments for their individual promotion that facilitate the access of domestic small and medium-sized enterprises to foreign markets and the exploitation of their productive potential”, says Minister Sergiu Railean.
MSMEs that have been active on the market for at least 2 years, demonstrate continuous growth and plan to expand into new market outlets or substitute imports of products/services into the Republic of Moldova can participate in the Programme.
We would point out that the programme does not allow eligible areas of activity for the use of financial resources for the development of agriculture and the rural environment.
According to the Director-General for SMEs, Iulia Costin, this programme aims to support entrepreneurs and SMEs by facilitating access to finance, with the aim of improving the economic and technical performance of companies, adapting to the requirements of external markets, increasing the productivity and competitiveness of SMEs and creating jobs.
It is worth mentioning the role of the European Union in the process of developing the support instrument by providing expertise and advice through the project “Quality Infrastructure in the Context of DCFTA”.
The Programme implementer is the Organisation for the Development of the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Sector, in coordination with the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure. This programme will run for a piloting period of 36 months from the date of its adoption, with the possibility of its extension.
In the coming period, ODIMM will develop the necessary tools for potential beneficiaries to carry out the steps and announce the launch of the Programme.
