The best incubator of the year went to Ceadâr-Lunga
According to the Acting Director-General of ODIMM, Petru Gurgurov, the aim of the competition is to promote the successes and good practices of Business Incubators, to stimulate their activity and, directly, to create new opportunities for the development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in the regions. “Business incubators respond to the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises at key stages of a business, such as starting and entering the market. One incubator aims to have a positive effect on the economic health of an area, a community,” said Petru Gurgurov.

The business incubator in Ceadâr-Lunga was officially opened on 10 July, 2014. According to the results recorded during 2018, it has an incubation rate of 100 %. The institution has 19 businesses, of which 9 are start-ups. 10 companies offer services and 9 of them are active in manufacturing. During 2018, more than 15000 consultations were offered to entrepreneurs and potential entrepreneurs in Ceadâr-Lunga AI. For the development of entrepreneurial skills, promotion and acceleration of incubated business development, 4 economic development projects were accessed and 37 training and information sessions were organised.
Currently, there are around 200 resident companies operating in the eleven Business Incubators of RIAM, of which 94 are start-ups, 107 are run by young people and 95 companies are run by women. A total of 993 jobs have been created, of which 514 are for women and 431 are for young people.During 2018, over 3000 consultations were offered at Business Incubators to entrepreneurs and potential entrepreneurs in the Business Incubators’ area of operation. 54 economic development projects were accessed to develop entrepreneurial skills and accelerate incubated business development. 

The Network of Business Incubators in Moldova was established in 2013 by ODIMM with the support of the European Union. The network currently includes eleven incubators: Ștefan-Vodă, Dubăsari, Leova, Ceadâr-Lunga, Rezina, Nisporeni, Sângerei, Soroca, Cimișlia, Cahul and Călărași. Two of them, IA Calarasi and IA Cahul, were opened throughout 2017.
