Minister of Economy Sergiu Gaibu, accompanied by ODIMM Director Dumitru Pîntea, visited the Business Incubator of Ștefan-Vodă, who celebrated 10 years of activity. Officials discussed with Incubator residents the conditions under which they conduct their business and the new programmes offered by the Government, through ODIMM, for entrepreneurs.

“I am happy to see the beautiful results from the rayons. The Ștefan-Vodă incubator managed to double the turnover of its residents in 2021 to RON 19 million. It is good for regions to provide a better living environment and one of the main pillars of development is the economic operator, which we need to support and help to grow. That is why we need to focus our efforts on regions, work with local authorities and support local entrepreneurs”stated: Minister Gaibu.

Dumitru Pîntea, Acting Director of ODIMM, highlighted the role of business incubators as promoters of economic development in the regions and presented the entrepreneurial support programmes in the management of the institution, urging the business environment in the South of the country to take advantage of them.

‘In 2022, in order to support the business environment, the Government introduced a series of support measures for incubators and their residents, including gas compensation. We are also coming up with new tools for incubators and entrepreneurs in particular. Even during this period, we are launching the call for grants for all existing programmes, including PARE 1 + 1, Women in Business, Start for Youth and the Internationalisation Programme”noted Director of the City.

‘The opportunities offered by ODIMM and the Business Incubator are vast. We try to motivate entrepreneurs to participate in the programmes offered. We want as many start-ups as possible created and developed in the field of technology, digitalisation or internationalisation”supports the Director of the Business Incubator in Ștefan-Vodă; Adelina Barbăneagră.

In 2021, the Incubator of Ștefan-Vodă performed best and was appointed “Best Business Incubator of the Year”. There are currently 25 entrepreneurs in the institution. The turnover of incubated companies is over RON 19 million. The institution was created in 2012 by the Organisation for the Development of the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Sector (ODIMM), with the financial support of the European Union.
