Social entrepreneurship promoted in the Republic of Moldova with the support of the Finance4SocialChange Project
“This component of the project involves 3 workshops and aims to create a framework for discussion with stakeholders in the field of social entrepreneurship in order to identify the main problems encountered by entrepreneurs, to provide solutions and to identify areas of intervention that will allow the development of social entrepreneurship and financing in the field of social entrepreneurship in our country while taking on board good practices from the Danube partner countries”, said Irina Todorova, coordinator Finance4SocialChange projectin the framework of ODIMM.
Anastasia Vacarciuc, Senior Consultant of the Directorate for Economic Policy and Business Environment of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure mentioned that a draft decision on the approval of the Rules of Operation of the National Commission for Social Entrepreneurship will be submitted in the near future for examination and approval by the Government of the Republic of Moldova. Subsequently, the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure will be responsible for the organisation and work of this national commission which may award the status of social enterprise or insertion social enterprise.
In the discussions, good practices were exchanged and impediments to the activity of social enterprises were also highlighted. These will be summarised and taken into account in order to improve the legal framework in this area.
Social entrepreneurship helps to increase social inclusion, create jobs, involve people from disadvantaged groups in economic activities and facilitate their access to social resources and services.
The workshop is organised as part of the project Finance4SocialChangethis aims to boost access to innovative financing instruments, as well as to create a business environment that helps social entrepreneurs to create more viable and stronger companies in the Danube region.
Finance4SocialChange it is co-financed by European Union funds (ERDF, IPA, ENI) under the second call for projects of the Danube Transnational Programme 2014-2020. ODSME is a partner in the implementation of the project Finance4SocialChangetogether with 19 institutions, from 15 countries in the Danube region.
