Social entrepreneurship, promoted by ODIMM in collaboration with RM’s KIC
On 26.11.2021, Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises held the information session “Social entrepreneurship as a new element in the Moldovan economy”in collaboration with Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova. As a result, more than 1000 other entrepreneurs from all parts of the country, members of the CCIRM, are becoming beneficiaries of the information provided as part of the information and promotion campaign for Social Entrepreneurship.
“Hundreds of Moldovan companies carry out social activities although they are not registered as social enterprises. At the same time, the development of social entrepreneurship in the Republic of Moldova is irrelevant. These companies, in addition to being honest economic operators who directly contribute to the economic development of the country, are also involved in solving Community and environmental problems.
Since 2018, ODIMM has been part of the transnational project Finance4SocialChange, where together with 14 countries we are working on developing this economic activity.
In the Republic of Moldova, social entrepreneurship can become an economic area that will generate impact in solving the problems of the society in which we operate, also thanks to the support of external partners and funders providing, including technical and financial assistance.”supports Tudor Lupashco, Head of ODIMM Business Advisory Centre which opened the event.
Opening remarks of the information session “Social entrepreneurship as a new element in the Moldovan economy” Sergiu Harea, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova stated that ‘The purpose of the cameral institution is to promote and provide support for the development of entrepreneurs.’
“The CCI of the Republic of Moldova supports social entrepreneurship, and over the years we have promoted some of the principles underpinning this practice – the principle of reciprocity; the principle of social responsibility; the principle of economic independence; the principle of social symmetry. Not in vain, over the last two years, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova is actively implementing the strategy for the digital transformation of its services. The digitalisation of KIC services arose out of the desire to provide entrepreneurs, especially in times of pandemic, safety, time and reduced finances. Today, entrepreneurs can participate in: virtual exhibitions www.virtual-fairs.md; can request services on the www.client.chamber.md platform; they can attend remote trainings www.academy.chamber.md as well as search partners on the Register of Members of the Chamber. The KIC values the work, or better, that is the noble cause of social entrepreneurs and is willing to support them and promote social economy initiatives through the tools they manage”supports Sergiu Harea, President of the CCI of the Republic of Moldova.
