Chisinau, 21 January 2025 — The Consultation Centre of the Organisation for the Development of Entrepreneurship in the City of Bălite was the host of the meeting of the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, with entrepreneurs in the municipality. The aim of the meeting was to discuss projects in their municipalities and identify opportunities for regional development.

In the discussion with entrepreneurs, the Head of the State stressed the importance of balanced development of regions and the commitment of government to support projects that improve living conditions, upgrade infrastructure and contribute to Moldova’s transformation.

The Director of ODA, Vadim Codreanu also participated in the event, who highlighted the impact of the entrepreneurial support programmes managed by the organisation on the business environment in the Bălite City and the North region of the country.

We would point out that ODA in partnership with the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalisation, and with the financial support of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, the European Union and other development partners, provided essential support to entrepreneurs in the north of the country, including through Programme 373.

Since the release of the programme 373, in the summer of 2022, 34 companies in Bucharest have accessed favourable loans totalling lei 88.5 million, which has generated over lei 115 million in investment in the domestic economy. Across the North region, 111 companies benefited from loans totalling approximately lei 430 million, resulting in an investment of almost lei 680 million.

In addition, grant programmes have been instrumental in economic development. In Bucharest, 46 entrepreneurs benefited from grants totalling lei 24.1 million, which generated investments of approximately lei 56 million. At regional level, 239 companies benefited from grants worth lei 81.5 million, contributing to investment in the amount of approximately lei 230 million.

At the same time, access to finance was facilitated through the Credit Guarantee Fund, whereby 33 entrepreneurs received guarantees totalling lei 32.3 million in Bucharest in the past three years. In the 11 races in the North region, 385 entrepreneurs benefited from guarantees totalling about 340 million lei.
