Organisation for the Development of the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Sector present at the North Regional Economic Forum
Entrepreneurs and representatives of public authorities attended the North Regional Forum in Edinets today, 30 November. The Forum brought together local investors, active companies, producers and exporters, business associations as well as representatives of central and local public authorities. The evening addressed topics of interest to entrepreneurs such as: access to physical infrastructure (channels of communication, utilities, incubators, etc.), workforce potential and availability, development of training centres for the workforce (universities, colleges, vocational schools, centres of excellence) and, last but not least, gaining access to funding.

The Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Octavian Calmâc, present at the event, stated that sustainable regional development is one of the most important and complex policies that the Government has proposed for the uniform development of all regions of the country, reducing existing economic and social disparities. “The government is getting closer to business, continuing the process of de-bureaucratisation, simplification of procedures, reduction of control institutions. We want the reform of the business climate to be felt by every entrepreneur, so from 2018 every economic operator will know how many times it will be checked, for what purpose and what the results of the control will be ", said Vice Premier Octavian Calmâc.
Acting Director of ODIMM Petru Gurgurov stressed the role and importance of small and medium-sized enterprises in the country’s economy. “SMEs account for 98 % of all businesses in Moldova and contribute 30 % of GDP. To unleash their development potential, the state, through the ODIMM, provides entrepreneurs with more advisory, financing and infrastructural programmes, "said the ODIMM interim director.
The ODIMM intermar director urged entrepreneurs from both the North and the whole country to be active, to inform themselves and to confidently use ODIMM free services and support programmes.
