Small and medium-sized enterprises will be supported in the process of business digitalisation. Today, a new tool to support the digitalisation of SMEs was launched at an online event between representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure (MEI) and the Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODSME) in response to the challenges faced by domestic companies during the epidemiological crisis and the state of emergency.

This supporting initiative aims to support the digital transformation and development of small and medium-sized enterprises in order to harness innovative potential and facilitate companies’ access to domestic and foreign markets.

“Today we are launching a new support programme for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and making RON 20 million available to entrepreneurs for the development of e-commerce tools. This support tool will help domestic producers digitalise their business processes and sell products or services on online platforms. Thanks the ODSME colleagues for their limited ability to draw up this programme and identify the financial resources needed to provide a solution for business people affected by trade restrictions during the pandemic crisis, "said Sergiu Railean.

According to ODIMM Director-General Iulia Costin, The programme aims to support businesses in setting up web pages, online shops, but also to provide grants for the purchase of digital technologies and solutions.

“At least 100 SMEs, beneficiaries of the programme, will receive a ‘voucher’ of a maximum amount of RON 20 000 for accessing consultancy and mentoring services in order to develop their own web page, set up on social networking pages, prepare their online profile and make company and product descriptions, etc. Entrepreneurs will also receive financial support of RON 200 000 for the purchase of equipment and software for the introduction of new technologies in the context of the digitalisation of SMEs and the elimination or minimisation of risks imposed by the market on at least 20 enterprises”, mentioned Iulia Costin with reference to the opportunities of the programme.

In order to be able to obtain this support, the applicant must be a legal entity, registered in accordance with the Law on Small and Medium Enterprises, demonstrate the need for digitalisation and the impact on the business, operate on the territory of the Republic of Moldova and own products or services resulting from their own entrepreneurial activity.
