ODIMM will support the development of social entrepreneurship in the Republic of Moldova
The creation and development of social enterprises in the Republic of Moldova will be supported by Support tool to boost social entrepreneurshipwhich will be implemented by ODIMM. The initiative was set out by the Director-General Iulia Costinat the 6th National Conference on Social Entrepreneurship.
The new support programme on which they work ODIMM jointly with Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure and development partnersit aims to support the development of more than 100 social enterprises, particularly in rural areas, and to employ around 30 % of people from vulnerable social groups.
The initiative has a well-defined social purpose, a committed mission to generate beneficial impacts on people, the environment and the community.
“This will be a programme to create a more inclusive society, using business tools to tackle social problems. The new entrepreneurial support instrument will be part of a complex phase of development of the social economy and social entrepreneurship in the Republic of Moldova ", emphasised Iulia Costin.
Experience from the European Union shows that 1 out of 4 businesses have the status of a social enterprise. Social entrepreneurship helps to increase social inclusion, create jobs, involve people from disadvantaged groups in economic activities and facilitate their access to social resources and services.
