ODIMM, supported by the World Bank in strengthening institutional capacities
The World Bank will continue to support ODSMEs in their task of strengthening and developing the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises sector in the Republic of Moldova. The assurances of the international institution were given today by Tarik Sahovic, Team Leader and Senior Specialist in Private Sector Development of the World Bank, in an online meeting with ODSME representatives.
In the discussions, the Director-General for SMEs, Iulia Costin, highlighted the results achieved by the institution thanks to the support provided through the Competitiveness Improvement Project (CAP II).
‘A specific chapter in the collaboration between ODSMEs and the World Bank is assistance in the digitalisation of credit guarantee services for SMEs. The software tool developed for the Credit Guarantee Fund will allow entrepreneurs to apply for the financial guarantee online and partner banks to submit the guarantee file online“, said Iulia Costin.
The World Bank representative, Tharik Sahovic, reconfirmed the financial institution’s support for ODIMM institutional capacity building through the digitalisation of processes and services. The World Bank will also provide expertise for the implementation of the new”Programme to support businesses with high potential for growth and internationalisation’
In this context, the interlocutors also discussed possibilities to support programmes and projects managed by ODIMM.
The World Bank mission, through CAP II, contributes to increasing the competitiveness of Moldovan businesses, in particular small and medium-sized enterprises, by forging links with the market, facilitating access to medium- and long-term finance and improving the business environment.
