ODIMM signed the Memorandum Agreements with the first 3 rayons on the development of MIPs
The Glodeni, Briceni and Ceadîr-Lunga districts are the first three of the 18 districts that signed today, 23 November, the Memorandum of Understanding with the MSMEs on the creation and development of Multifunctional Industrial Platforms (MIPs) in these regions. Thus, the key players involved in the creation and development of the MIPs (MSMEs, town councils and town halls) have laid the foundations for cooperation with a view to increasing competitiveness at regional level. At the same time, according to the agreements, local public administrations (LPAs) have set themselves the objective of economic development of the regions by supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, with an increased focus on innovation, technology transfer and sustainable development, attracting investment and promoting the region as development poles.
‘With this pilot programme, we aim to help revitalise the regional economy. In the medium term, MIPs will generate added value by creating new jobs, developing entrepreneurship and attracting investment“, stressed Iulia Costin, Director-General of ODIMM.
Representatives of the FPAs of Glodeni, Briceni and Ceadîr-Lunga showed their full openness to ensuring the conditions for the creation and sustainable development of MIPs and supporting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises at local level.
A Multifunctional Industrial Platform includes the land and the set of buildings specifically equipped with telecommunications networks, electricity supply systems, gas supply networks, water supply and sewerage networks, transport routes, administrative and legal conditions, production halls, social infrastructure for the development of economic activities.
At the early stage of development of the MIPs, investments are being planted to design and bring all the utilities needed for the activity of resident companies and attract investment.
Please note that the pilot programme for the creation of Multifunctional Industrial Platforms is implemented by ODIMM in coordination with the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure. They are to be created in 18 districts throughout the Republic of Moldova with a lower level of industrialisation.
