The Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODIMM) organised information sessions on Business Support Programmes for representatives of Business Incubators and Business Assistance and Consultancy Centres at the Raional Council of Taraclia and Căușeni for 2 days.

ODIMM representatives discussed the new business support programmes offered by the Government through ODIMM with the managers of the Business Incubators of the Republic of Moldova. Participants embraced the specificities and particularities of each individual programme, and then informed and guided businessmen.

Interim Director ODIMM Dumitru Pîntea referred to the role of HLF support programmes in developing the business environment at local and regional level.

“Business incubators have an important role to play in building and strengthening the capacities of SMUs in rural areas. We will continue to support these entities in creating and developing a practical and lucrative SME network in the territory”noted Dumitru Pîntea.

In the context, the interim Director of ODIMM specified that the institution would strengthen the Network of 11 Business Incubators in Moldova to become the main promoters of economic development in the regions.

For the purpose of strengthening the managerial capacities of the RIAM administrators, a workshop was also organised with the general: Turn your community’s problems into a successful business.

Subsequently, the incubator managers met with the Minister of Economy, Sergiu Gaibu, who encouraged their work, noting that: “Business incubators are very important, opening the door to entrepreneurs from all over the country. We believe that regional development and production are essential and that ODSME programmes must be implemented in regions, especially rural regions, so as to ensure jobs and the processing of raw materials. In this context, we want financial independence and support for economic operators from local authorities”.

The aim of the Business Incubators Network Support Tool is to develop the capacities of RIAM representatives in assisting and helping to increase the competitiveness of young people in rural areas.

As a reminder, at present, in the eleven Business Incubators, members of the RIAMit operates around 263 by resident companies, of which 157 they are start-ups, 143 are managed by young people, and 122 companies are run by women. Overall created 830 jobs, of which 372 women’s and 330 for young people.

The Business Incubators Network in Moldova was established in 2013 by ODIMM with the support of the European Union. The members of RIAM are Business Incubators: Ștefan-Vodă, Dubăsari, Leova, Ceadâr-Lunga, Rezina, Nisporeni, Sângerei, Soroca, Cimișlia, Cahul and Călărași.
