ODIMM helps women in business in Moldova export their products
Organisation for the Development of the Enterprise Sector it helps women-led companies to promote their products and services on the external markets. Grants up to 1 m are offered in this respect 649000 lei for the best companies participating in a competition organised as part of the Programme “Phase in Business”. Thus, nine companies that demonstrated export and innovation potential have today signed financing contracts with the IMMO for a total amount of lei 9.9 million; this will favour economy-wide investment of at least lei 17.4 mln. 90 companies applied to the competition, which went through a selection process complex and rigorous.
Present at the event, Minister for Economic Affairs and Infrastructure, Anatol Usatîi, congratulated female entrepreneurs who have shown ambition and developed business with growth potential.
“Our country needs entrepreneurs like Dvs, sustainable and forward-looking business. The Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure will continue to support the entrepreneurial environment, especially among women. Together we can build a healthy and prosperous economy”.
Iulia Costin, Director General ODIMM, stated that by granting these large grants we apply a new tab in the history of the support for the HEIMMs in the Republic of Moldova.
“Today we are doing history through the first large grants for female entrepreneurship. It was a rigorous competition taking into account both the amount of the grant provided as well as the large number of candidates. I am sure that successful entrepreneurs will successfully develop their promising investment projects as soon as possible and their products and services are recognised as internationally as possible. I also hope that these will be an example to follow for other women in Moldova managing business”.
Of total those 90 applications at the competition, 9 companies through their investment projects, they demonstrated the innovation and export potential. Of these, 4 enterprises are export-oriented, including import substitution; and 5 business plans to expand exports. In addition, 65 new jobs will be created and a further 371 will be maintained.
Of those 9 enterprises 7 operates in domain production (manufacture of clothing, manufacture of cold oils and production of gluten-free famous oils, the constitution of individualised plant supporters, production of textile and accessories, manufacture of bakery products, manufacture of supplies, manufacture of metal products); 1 it is from agriculture (cultivation and processing of doors, in particular empty), and a company provide IT services (drafting and organising IT Training Programmes, thematic events and provision of programming advice).

Component III ’Support for growing companies” within The “Food Business” programme has been aimed at companies active on the market for more than 2 years. created and managed by women and planning to increase the turnover and/or number of employees over the next 18 months, by expanding the selling, export and innovation market, maximising the impact in the economy. The programme provides for grants to be awarded for a maximum amount of RON 1649000/beneficiary, based on competition. The amount of the non-repayable financial support may not exceed 70 % of the total value of the investment project. Grants are provided from the State budget.
