6 companies that have social and corporate responsibility activities were awarded today, 28 December, at the SME Gala. The winning companies received honorary degrees, vouchers and gifts from partners and sponsors: Commercial Bank “Moldova Agroindbank” S.A. and EFES VITANTA MOLDOVA Brewery SA. National competition SME – Social-Corporate Responsibility Model it is in its nineteenth edition and is organised annually under the aegis of The Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.

Iulia Costin, Director General ODIMM congratulated the winning companies for their engagement and philanthropic spirit.

“Social and corporate responsibility (CSR) should be a business strategy, or more specifically a philosophy that underpins the business. In the narrow sense, it is only seen as an image development strategy, through promise and actions of a philanthropic nature and involvement in social projects. This commitment goes beyond statutory obligations to comply with legislation and manifests itself in voluntary actions to improve the quality of life for employees and their families, the community and society as a whole”.

17 companies from the regions, including the municipality of Chisinau, participated in the competition. who have taken responsibility for the impact of their activities on the community, customers, employees, shareholders and the environment.

This year, according to the results of the evaluation committee, the following winners were nominated:

— Award for employee-oriented social and corporate responsibility activities — “PRISVIO” S.R.L (Mun. Chisinau).

— Award for environmental oriented social and corporate responsibility activities — ‘SICOM’ S.R.L. (s. Bardar, r-nol Ialoveni).

— Award for community-oriented social and corporate responsibility activities — ‘EDUJOC’ S.R.L (Mun. Chisinau).

— Award for Corporate Social Responsibility activities targeting clients, business partners, suppliers — CAP BASARABIA S.R.L. (s. Hirbovat, n. Anenii Noi).

— Special Award for Social-Corporate Responsibility Activities Oriented towards the Use of a Green and Responsible Business Model — ‘Rumix Stil’ S.R.L. (s. Valleys, r-null Cahul).

MARE Award for the use of several corporate and social responsibility actions — ‘VISAPINA-IMPEX’ S.R.L. (Orhei).

The ‘SME – Model of Social Responsibility’ national competition has been organised annually by ODIMM since 2010, with the aim of promoting this concept and disseminating the best practices of SMEs. The participants in the competition are companies that qualify as SMEs, carry out economic activity for more than 1 year, are residents of the Republic of Moldova and have carried out at least one of the activities of Corporate Social Responsibility. Thus, between 2010 and 2020, 11 editions of the competition took place, with a total of 51 companies awarded prizes, of which: Social integration and community support — 11 enterprises Protection of the environment —11 enterprises, Grija vs. Employees – 11 enterprises, Care for the market – 5 companies, CSR activities to use a green and responsible business model- 2 and the Grand Prize – 11 companies.
