Organisation for the Development of the Sector of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises of the Republic of Moldova (ODIMM) and Technical University of Moldova (UTM) aims to develop a partnership to support and deepen knowledge in information technologies, cybersecurity, and to enhance the productivity and competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMUs) in order to ensure a high level of qualification for university graduates by integrating the study process and experience of government institutions.

The priority areas of partnership between the two institutions were set out in a Cooperation Agreementsigned by ODIMM CEO Iulia Costin and UTM Rector Viorel Bostan.

“By signing the collaboration agreement between the MSMEs and the UTM, we have laid the foundations for an important partnership between the education and business sectors. Collaboration between our institutions will help to increase the entrepreneurial culture, the level of digitalisation, technology transfer, know-how and, last but not least, the competitiveness of SMEs”stressed Iulia Costin, Director General ODIMM.

Viorel Bostan, UTM Rector noted that the 2 institutions complement each other.

“The UTM focuses on training students, young professionals who will later capitalise on their knowledge in the SME sector. Through this partnership, we aim to help provide methodological and organisational assistance in carrying out the actions needed to develop the infrastructure of the local business environment. Together we will succeed in delivering tangible results”stated Viorel Bostan.

The parties agreed to exchange information, participate in joint projects and organise events in the field of ICT, Cyber Security, Information Systems Administration and Maintenance, to develop clusters and I-hubs. At the same time, students will be given, within the legal limit, access to the processes for implementing technological innovations and to the quality assurance system under the ODIMM.

After the signing ceremony of the Agreement, the representatives of ODIMM visited the centres and laboratories of studies and research of the Univesity of the Râșcani Campus (Faculty of Computing, Informatics and Microelectronics and Faculty of Food Technology), appreciating the vast technical and study possibilities that could be exploited for the benefit of SMEs.
