1 November 2024,Chireen — The organisation for the development of entrepreneurship, in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalisation, announces the opening of the implementation process for two grant programmes to support small businesses in the Republic of Moldova.

The initiatives aim to increase innovation and development capacity in the manufacturing and tourism sectors, sectors that are of key importance for boosting the national economy.

The first programme for small producers supports the start-up and expansion of business in manufacturing industries through grants of up to RON 500 thousand per beneficiary which can cover up to 70 % of the value of the investment project, helping to develop the production infrastructure, increasing sales volume and optimising business processes.

Small producer support programme it has a total budget of lei 60 million with a three-year implementation period, of which lei 4.3 million are allocated for 2024. Over 100 companies will benefit from these funds, thereby facilitating the growth of small producers and the development of the manufacturing sector, especially in rural areas.

In parallel, Support programme for the development of tourism SMEs it aims to strengthen the capacity of businesses active in tourism and related areas, supporting job creation, attracting tourists and diversifying Moldovan-specific services. Through a budget of 11 million lei – State Budget and European funds – eligible entrepreneurs can access grants of up to lei 500.000, covering up to 70 % of the value of the proposed projects.

Since the beginning of the year, 49 investment projects have been approved for financing under this programme. The total value of approved grants amounts to lei 17.40 million, generating an estimated volume of investment in the economy amounting to approximately lei 36.1 million.
