During the seventh session of the Moldovan-Bulgarian Interparliamentary Committee on Economic Cooperation, a meeting took place on 10 September 2015 between the Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODIMM) and the Bulgarian delegation in the lead with Ms Daniela Vezieva – Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Bulgaria, Petar Palov – Extraordinary Ambassador and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria, Diiana Naidenova – Director of External Economic Policy, Bronislav Denev – Economic and Commercial Advisor of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Bucharest and Nikola Stojanov – Executive Director of the Agency for the Promotion of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.

The aim of this meeting was to continue the working relationship between the competent institutions in Moldova and Bulgaria, not least to create new opportunities for the development and stimulation of the SME sector in both countries.

The parties exchanged information on experiences and support measures and tools for SME development. Problems have been identified for the development of SMEs in Moldova, for which the Bulgarian side could blame with its experience in successful SME development policies in the Republic of Moldova.

We reiterate that the basic objective of the MDG is to help make Moldovan small and medium-sized enterprises more competitive by implementing support programmes, facilitating access to finance and promoting them on both the internal and external markets.
