Moldovan companies in bio-food support will be provided for the development of joint products and services with companies from Eastern Partnership (EP) countries and the European Union (EU) for business internationalisation. The European Union has launched a new project ‘PLAT4FOOD’implemented by a consortium of business support organisations from Bulgaria, Italy, Republic of Moldova and Georgia, with the aim of initiating specific tools and services for SMUs in this sector and supporting the development of new promotional and commercial activities in their international markets.

In this way, companies in organic/organic food domain: fresh fruit and vegetables, cereals, meat, seafood products, milk, wine, oil will be able to benefit from study visits for the establishment of business partnerships, cooperation with foreign producers, suppliers and service distributors. They will also have access to an international promotional platform subsequently, a new marketing plan for a homogeneous group of SMUs will be developed. At the same time, they will be organised B2B events in Georgia and Italy to create opportunities to access new markets (biofood products) and develop new business collaborations.

Of the other part, business support organisations will be supportedout of the 4 countries implementing the project ‘PLAT4FOOD’in expanding international cooperation activities by applying new business models based on smart aggregation products, encouraging the transfer of know-how and best practices.

The value and importance of the project is paramount for the countries involved and their sustainable development. According to a report to the European Commission, SMEs in Europe account for more than 95 % of all private companies, acting as engines of continuous economic growth and an important factor in strengthening free society. And the organic/organic food sector has considerable relevance in Europe, which is the world’s largest exporter of agricultural products.

The PLAT4FOOD project is funded by EU4Business, an initiative of the European Union, coordinated by EUROCHAMBERS. The project will be implemented by the consortium: Vratsa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bulgaria – PP (CCI Vratsa), Unicamere del Veneto, Italy (UCV), Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Moldova (ODIMM) and Georgian Agency for Innovation and Technology, Georgia (GITA).
