IA Sîngerei is the winner of the 5th edition of the Business Incubator of the Year Competition, organised by the Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODIMM) and the Business Incubators Network of the Republic of Moldova (RIAM).

The Transmisible Cup, the honorary diploma and the price gift were handed over, this time, to Ludmila Prociuc, the manager of the Business Incubator in Sîngerei, for the Incubator’s outstanding work during 2019. The award took place at the Business Incubators’ Aggregation Meeting for 2019 and the planning for 2020. The meeting was attended by representatives of ODIMM, RIAM, administrators of Moldovan Business Incubators.

According to the Director-General of ODIMM, Iulia Costin, the aim of the competition is to promote the successes and good practices of Business Incubators, to stimulate their activity and, directly, to create new opportunities for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the regions.

“The Business Incubators Network matures, grows and grows. The claim is based on increasing performance indices. New jobs are being created, incubation facilities have been fully exploited by most members of the Network and residents’ turnover is increasing. Incubated companies diversify their business and implement innovative ideas. We already have other principles for selecting residents, if initially all the people wanted were incubated, the focus is now on innovation, economic and social impact. ODIMM will continue to support the strengthening of the Network and incubators will become the main promoters of economic development in the regions ", said Iulia Costin.

The business incubator in Sîngerei was officially launched on 8 August 2013. According to the results recorded during 2019, it has an incubation rate of 100 %. The institution has 40 businesses, of which 21 are start-ups. 16 businesses are run by young people and 26 by women. 255 jobs were created in companies incubated in AI Sîngerei.

During this year, around 400 consultations were offered to entrepreneurs and potential entrepreneurs as part of AI Sîngerei. For the development of entrepreneurial skills, promotion and acceleration of incubated business development, 3 economic development projects were accessed and 5 companies benefited from loans from the revolving fund. At the same time, 115 training and information sessions were organised.

For the first time, prizes and mentions were awarded this year. Soroca Business Incubator he received his diploma for outstanding work in developing the business environment. “The Debutant of the Year 2019” has been declared administrator Business incubator Ștefan-Vodă Adelina Barbăneagră, and “Most sustainable Incubator” has been nominated Business incubator Nisporeni.

Currently around 211 resident companies operate in the eleven Business Incubators, members of RIAM, of which 105 are start-ups, 106 are run by young people and 97 companies are run by women. A total of 950 jobs were created, of which 475 were for women and 421 for young people.

The Business Incubators Network in Moldova was established in 2013 by ODIMM with the support of the European Union. The eleven hatcheries are located in the following districts: Ștefan-Vodă, Dubăsari, Leova, Ceadâr-Lunga, Rezina, Nisporeni, Sângerei, Soroca, Cimișlia, Cahul and Călărași. Two of them, IA Calarasi and IA Cahul, were opened throughout 2017.
