Grants of RON 11.3 million to 42 companies: Government supports innovation and greening of business
30.7.2024, Chisinau Administrators of 42 companies signed financing contracts with the Organisation for Entrepreneurship Development to receive grants from the Government of the Republic of Moldova. The total value of the non-refundable financing amounts to RON 11.3 million and the total value of the investments in the economy exceeds RON 21.3 million.
The economic operators accessed the grants in order to equip the companies with efficient process optimisation machines, but also to green the business by purchasing treatment plants. Companies will also invest the money in implementing services and software solutions to optimise management and production processes.
The 42 winning companies carry out activities ranging from food and toy manufacturing, accommodation and food services, architectural and accounting activities, to cereal cultivation and livestock farming.
Grants are obtained through the Youth Start Programme, the Women Entrepreneurship Support Programme, the Programme for Attracting Transfers to the Economy “PARE 1 + 2”, the Digital Transformation Programme for SMEs, the Export Competitiveness and Internationalisation Programme for SMEs and the Greening Programme for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.
Dumitru Alaiba, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Digitalisation of the Republic of Moldova, spoke about the government’s commitment to support the national economy through a number of strategic initiatives. The Minister also stressed the importance of supporting young entrepreneurs, who are the engine of innovation and economic development, and also highlighted the importance of supporting diasporas in starting and developing businesses.
‘Today we are helping 42 more companies to grow their business, scale up and improve their capacities to produce more and faster. Our main objectives are to cut red tape, digitalise, support entrepreneurs, especially those in small and medium-sized enterprises, by providing them with financing and new market outlets. We want to have a growing economy and for that we need your businesses to grow and grow. We have a common interest and we stand by you in this process“, said Dumitru Alaiba.
At the start of the event, the director of the Entrepreneurship Development Organisation, Vadim Codreanu, mentioned the importance of supporting entrepreneurs and highlighted the role of innovation and sustainability in business development.
‘Accessing these grants is an important step for the development and modernisation of companies in various economic sectors. With the support we provide, we want to encourage innovation, promote sustainable practices and improve competitiveness in the internal and international market. Entrepreneurs need to see these opportunities as an incentive to invest in technology, greening and making processes more efficient, thus ensuring sustainable growth of their businesses“, said Vadim Codreanu.
Please note that since the beginning of the year, the Entrepreneurship Development Organisation has registered a total of 297 companies that have received grants through different entrepreneurial support programmes. Their total value is RON 120 million, of which RON 106 million comes from the state budget.
