IMG-20170927-WA0006 editedThe Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODIMM) and the business support organisation ‘Dnestr Entreprises’ launched today, 27 September 2017, in Tighina the first training session for women entrepreneurs under the Business Academy for Women (Baw) project.
Over two training days, 25 businesswomen on the left of the Dniester will develop their skills in marketing, business management and export-import operations in the context of the DCFTA.
It is the first European project aimed at female entrepreneurship which includes in its geographical area and beneficiaries from the eastern districts of the Republic of Moldova.
Opening the event, Ms Iulia Iabanji, Director-General of ODIMM, stressed that the Baw Project aims to support women in developing their entrepreneurial potential by improving business management and expansion skills: “With this project we want to help women entrepreneurs increase their managerial analytical and diagnostic capacity of the company in order to identify points of business growth and expansion into new markets. At the same time, we were surprised by the diverse spheres of activity of the participants and their creative business development, "said Iulia Iabanji.
The Director of the Business Support Organisation “Dnestr Entreprises” Inna Polisciuc mentioned that the training phase consists of 3 modules, which include modern marketing tools, business process and business model optimisation within a company, market promotion and conducting export-import operations in the context of the DCFTA.
“The trainers involved in the training process will take into account contemporary business trends and ongoing changes in the economy of foreign markets, as well as the field of activity of the participants, said Inna Polisciuc.
For the first time for the Republic of Moldova, components of the European PLATO Training Programme will be implemented under this project, which involves the transfer of knowledge and experience from successful entrepreneurs to female entrepreneurs participating in the Baw project.IMG-20170927-WA0010 edited
The Business Academy for Women project aims to promote women’s economic and social skills, including those in rural regions, by reducing gender inequality and increasing their access to financial resources, services, innovative technologies and development opportunities. Baw was initiated in February this year and has a 18-month continuity. The project will train, free of charge, around 300 business women across the Republic of Moldova to make the business model more efficient and guide the company towards expansion and export.
The 10 most innovative investment projects selected in the Baw grant competition will receive a grant of EUR 6 thousand.
The project is funded by the European Union (EU), implemented by the Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODIMM) in partnership with the International Centre for the Promotion of Women in Business (ICAWB).
