Crisis situations, business failures and second chances for entrepreneurs in difficulty were the themes of the second dialogue event on the topic “Facilitating access to second chance”organised through transnational project DanubeChance2.0.

Director-General ODIMM Iulia Costin stated that entrepreneurs need support to overcome possible crisis situations, especially during this period.

In the future, more and more entrepreneurs may find themselves on the brink of insolvency as a result of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is therefore necessary to draw up and implement a National Support Programme for entrepreneurs in crisis situations. At the same time, ODIMMthrough the project DanubeChance2.0it will continue to provide the necessary support to entrepreneurs in difficulty”.

Head of Economic Policy and Business Environment Directorate of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure Vasile Vulpepresented the reforms on Insolvency Lawimplemented on 14 September 2020.

‘Iinsolvency is one of the solutions for companies hit by the pandemic, in financial difficulty, and insolvency prevention procedures can be found in domestic legislation”.

The online event presented the methodology for implementing the “Pilot Business Revitalisation Initiative”which will be implemented at the same time in both Moldova and 7 other project partner countries: Slovenia, Croatia, Germany, Romania, Hungary, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The initiative involves offering an individual programme to accelerate and revitalise the business plan for companies going through a period of crisis and honest entrepreneurs who have failed and wish to relaunch their business. The new project will focus on business diagnostics and providing mentoring support to facilitate the reintegration of distressed entrepreneurs into the economic circuit.
