Young Entrepreneurs’ Economic Forum in the Sângerei Rayon
In the discussion, young entrepreneurs from rural regions mentioned several problems they face, including insufficient information on business opportunities, a lack of financial sources for realising ideas, and a lack of communication in the area of entrepreneurship.
Lyudmila Stihii, head of the ODIMM Directorate for Research, Innovation and Training, mentioned that there are currently numerous programmes in the Republic of Moldova to support entrepreneurship, especially for young people. In this context, Ludmila Stihi mentioned the Programmes, PNAET, GEA, PARE 1 + 1, managed by ODIMM, which are quite accessible for young people.
The ODIMM expert also pointed out that ODIMM initiated the first Business Advisory and Assistance Centre (CC & AA), which is already operating in business incubators opened by ODIMM in 9 districts of the country, one of which is in Sângerei. In these centres, young people have the opportunity to obtain any necessary information on starting and managing their business and on the support possibilities offered under national programmes.
Ludmila Stihi also urged young people to apply for the ‘SME – Model for Corporate Social Responsibility SME’ competition, which will be organised by ODSME between September and November 2016 and aims to boost the social responsibility of SMEs.
Local entrepreneurs shared their success stories and the problems they faced once they started their business. Entrepreneur Nicolai Midrigan said that his achievement was that he managed to turn a problem into an advantage for starting a business. Looking for reproductive material for his rabbit business, he found it complicated to find in the Republic of Moldova and decided to expand his business into this branch of rabbit farming.
Entrepreneur Andrei Lopotenco started his business through the PARE 1 + 1 programme after coming from Portugal and is now a successful history of raising chinchillas and has his own feed production line for these animals.
More than 100 young people have been trained under the PNAET programme so far in the Sângerei Rayon. There are also 17 residents in the Business Incubator.
