The ODIMM team met with World Bank representatives
The World Bank team welcomed the intention of ODSMEs to develop and modernise the SME advisory service by opening business support offices in business incubators and proposed to modernise the ODIMM WEB page, adapt it to the current needs of the SME sector, create a transparent system for assessing the quality of the services provided.
The possibility of setting up the e-learning training platform was also discussed.
Iulia Iabanji, Director-General of ODIMM, mentioned that, thanks to the support of the World Bank, ODIMM had managed to carry out several activities: SME support tools have been improved and developed, the establishment of business relationships for companies with growth potential has been facilitated, and steps have been taken to make the work of the Credit Guarantee Fund, managed by the ODSME, more efficient.
Iulia Iabanji mentioned that ODIMM still counts on the support of the World Bank, in the sense of establishing a viable system of support for entrepreneurs with growth potential, monitoring the impact of national and international programmes on the business environment in particular and the country’s economy in general.
The Director-General of ODIMM pointed out that in order to bring ODIMM services closer to entrepreneurs in the country’s rural areas, the organisation aims to open two ODIMM offices in the north and south of the country.
Iulia Iabanji expressed her sincere thanks to the World Bank team for their cooperation and support, and stressed that working together with the two teams would help boost the development of Moldovan small and medium-sized enterprises.
The Unit for the Implementation of the World Bank’s Competitiveness Improvement Project (UIPAC) is a public institution set up under the Ministry of Economy (Government Decision No 895 of 25.8.2005) for the management of funds granted to the Government of the Republic of Moldova by international donors in order to improve the entrepreneurial environment and thus the socio-economic development of the Republic of Moldova.
