We would point out that the ‘PARE 1 + 1’ programme for the drawing up of remittances in the economy, initially intended for the years 2010 to 2012, was approved by Government Decision No 972 of 18.10.2010 and continued until 2015.
This programme is intended for migrant workers or first-degree relatives who wish to invest in starting or expanding a business in the Republic of Moldova.
The objective of the programme is to mobilise the human and financial resources of Moldovan migrant workers in the sustainable economic development of the Republic of Moldova by stimulating the creation and development of small and medium-sized enterprises.
As part of the implementation of the Programme, the Programme has been closed. 142 contracts of non-refundable financing with Moldovan entrepreneurs, the total amount of investment, exceeding RON 76 million. Thus, it was found that each leu allocated from this programme attracts approximately RON 3 in investments in the national economy.
For the year 2013, the allocation of RON 32 million for the implementation of this Programme, 50 per cent more than the amount allocated in the first two years of the Programme.
The PARE 1 + 1 programme aims to make it easier for migrants to access funding and to reintegrate them into society, while helping to stimulate formal remittances, introducing good practices from migrants’ host states and creating an effective lever for introducing innovations.
