ODIMM hosted volunteers from the Peace Corps
On 26 June, ODIMM was visited by a group of volunteers from the Peace Corps in Moldova. ODIMM collaborators presented their organisation, field of activity, existing programmes and business environment in Moldova.
Particular interest sparked the programme APPARENTLY 1 + 1 and FGC. Discussions addressed the application, efficiency and benefits of SME support instruments.
Activities carried out under the Programme APPARENTLY 1 + 1 it involves two steps:
1. Entrepreneurial training and support;
2. Business Funding/Rule 1 + 1.
Business ideas beneficiaries are targeted in a variety of ways. They invest savings mainly accumulated in agriculture (greenhouses, cold stores, livestock farms), services, production, agri-tourism and construction.
The efficiency of the PARE 1 + 1 programme has been demonstrated by success stories of migrants and their families who have given a business out of the means obtained across the borders of the country.
Programme APPARENTLY 1 + 1 is carried out in accordance with the ‘1 + 1’ rule, it stipulates that each leu invested from the remittances will be replaced by a leu from the PARE. The maximum amount of financing granted is RON 200 thousand.
Credit Guarantee Fund (FGC) according to international practice, it is the most beneficial instrument for SMEs. It offers the possibility to obtain financial resources from banks on condition that the pledge for credit insurance is insufficient. Thus, with the help of the FGC, entrepreneurs access credit quickly and at low risk to start or grow their business.
