Liliana Babără, Chairman of the RIAM Management Board and administrator of the Soroca Business Incubator mentioned that business incubators had succeeded in establishing themselves as regional development platforms and a first source of information for entrepreneurs in the country’s regions on business support projects.

“More training and mentoring programmes should be implemented to make business incubators more efficient. In this year incubators can enjoy an increasing number of residents, which has also led to the creation of new jobs,” said Liliana Babnă.RIAM-3

Incubators’ representatives highlighted the problems, constraints and grievances of entrepreneurs in the country’s regions. Incubator managers mentioned the need to involve local public administration more actively in supporting the business environment by taking on responsibility for infrastructure and other joint projects. The members of the RIAM Council agreed on the development of a normative framework for the activity of business incubators. The Council also voted to re-elect Mr Roman as RIAM Manager.

The Network of Business Incubators in Moldova (RIAM), established in 2013 by the Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODSME) with the financial support of the European Union, is a platform for cooperation created through a voluntary understanding of its members, with the aim of promoting the role of Business Incubators in economic development and their recognition at national and international level.

The role of incubators is not only to open up new businesses, but also to connect them to external development projects.
