Launch of the Black Sea BI-NET Regional Business Incubators Network project
Today, 19 July 2013, the Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (ODIMM). partners from Türkiye, Greece, Romania, Armenia and Ukraine have started Regional Network of Business Incubators (Black Sea BI-NET) project. The project aims at creating an international network of incubators in the Black Sea basin, transfer of technologies, exchange of best practices and helping incubated SMEs to internationalise.
The launch event brought together representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to Moldova, the partner organisations; central public authorities, business support organisations, incubator managers and other interested institutions and organisations.
Ms Iulia Iabanji, Director-General ODIMM opening the event, he referred to the importance of developing business incubators and the multiplier effect of creating, developing and internationalising the activity of small companies in rural municipalities on the national economy.
In her presentation, Ms Iulia Iabanji mentioned that ODIMM, with the support of the European Union, has now set up 6 business incubators in Soroca, Leova, Ștefan-Vodă, Rezina, Sîngerei and Dubăsari (Coșnița). Two new incubators are planned to be set up in Ceadîr-Lunga and Nisporeni in 2013.
All active incubators will be able to be members of the national and international network through which they will benefit from the experience and best practices of the Black Sea Basin countries and incubated companies will be able to promote their products for export. At least 20 business incubators from partner countries will be part of the network.
Mr Wicher Slagter, Head of Political and Economic Branch of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova stressed that Black Sea BI-NET project it is both a tool for the efficient development of the business environment and an important mechanism for promoting regional and international cooperation.
Black Sea BI-Net its overall objective is to accelerate the development of a productive and competitive economy in the Black Sea Basin region by:
- establishment of the network of incubators in the Black Sea Basin;
- exchange of experience and knowledge between Business Incubators;
- supporting incubated SMEs to internationalise.
Project it is funded by the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI) and the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) under the Cross-border cooperation programme in the Black Sea Basin 2007-2013. The project has a budget of EUR 800 thousand and an implementation period of 24 months.
ODIMM develop tools and it immerses activities aimed at supporting viable ideas of entrepreneurs wishing to develop their own business. ODIMM is a public, non-profit institution created by the Government of the Republic of Moldova by Decision No 538 of 17.5.2007.
