Organisation for the Development of the Sector of Small and Medium Enterprises (ODIMM)during the 12 years of work, a press briefing presented its achievements.
Over the four-day period, doors were open to those interested in knowing about the SME DSO programmes and projects.

Iulia Costin, Secretary-General of State, Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, who formed the basis for the establishment of the institution, commended the ODIMM team. “ODIMM demonstrates effective collaboration with the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure in the implementation of support instruments for SMEs. The ODIMM is the predominant between government institutions and entrepreneurs, facilitating public-private dialogue.

The development of the SME sector is one of the key priorities for the country’s economic growth and is included in the most relevant policy documents. In the National Development Strategy “Moldova 2020” one of the seven development priorities refers directly to improving the business climate by stimulating the opening of new businesses and simplifying the procedure for business registration; optimising the policy framework; diversification of support instruments; increasing the share of labour employed in the sector’mention Iulia Costin.

Petru Gurgurov, acting Director General ODIMM, specified that the institution would keep track of achievements and will continue to provide entrepreneurial training, non-repayable financial resources, mentoring, post-financing monitoringorganise meetings with experienced exchange professionals for potential entrepreneurs. Open door days brought more than 600 people with advice to the ODIMM.It also announced the official launch of the undimm.md website re-updated and modernised with the support of the World Bank.

Over 120 thousand personsin the country as a whole or working across the country, SME DSO programmes and projects – both domestically and internationally – benefited from SME development programmes and projects. Over 30 thousand persons have been trained and over 60 thousand have been guided in business. Were offered above 400 million lei in the form of grants, for the development of the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises sector.

The Credit Guarantee Fund was allocated approximately lei 104 million in the form of financial guarantees.

The SME DSO programmes and projects generated more than lei 1 billion in cumulative investments in the economy and ensured more than 6000 jobs.

In the result, better of the 3000 companies already received financial support on the part of the IMMO and the process continues.

For 12 years, ODIMM has proposed credible opportunities for business start-up and development, learning entrepreneurs how to manage their fair and profitable, small and medium-sized business.
