On 14-15 April this year, 57 migrants and their relatives signed non-negotiable financing contracts under the PARE 1 + 1 Economic Discharge Programme. The investment projects concern cumulative investments of approximately RON 48 million, while the amount of grants requested under the Programme represents approximately RON 11 million. As a result, RON 1 million from ‘PARE 1 + 1’ will attract investments in the economy.

Moldovan migrant workersinvest their accumulated savings predominantly inAgriculture – 54 %(crop – cereals, vines, tree nurseries, growing flowers in greenhouses, walnuts, baciferous crops; the crop associated with: animal husbandry, provision of mechanised services, storage of fruit in refrigerators; livestock farming (pigs, quails, horned pears); provision of services in agriculture);Production/Processing – 22 %(wood processing/furniture production; lighters/pellets; building materials; bread/pastry (covrigi); ice cream; fruit drying);Provision of services – 21 %(repair and maintenance of motor vehicles; construction; leisure – sports club based on electronic games (billiards, air hockey, X-Box, etc.); electronic line services);Catering – 1 enterprise.

As a reminder, the 57 investment projects were accepted for financing by the Oversight Committee of the “PARE 1 + 1” programme at the meeting of 4 April this year. Before applying to the funding phase, each beneficiary hasimproved entrepreneurial knowledge and skills during the seminars, where the following topics followed: business registration, management, marketing, accounting, business planning, etc.

The programme runs until 2015, i.e. every person who has worked or works abroad and wishes to invest resources in developing his/her own business, is invited to apply to the “PARE 1 + 1” programme.
