EUR 2 million reached the ODA accounts for SME financing through the “Fom Impact” financing product
7 October 2025, Chisinau — The Organisation for the Development of Entrepreneurship (ODA) announces receipt of the first tranche of EUR 2 million under the Financial Agreement on the implementation of the project “Facility for the Development of SMEs in the Republic of Moldova” financed by the German Government through the German Development Bank (KfW)
This amount will be channelled to finance eligible small and medium-sized enterprises, through the ‘Geas Impact’ finaissance product developed under the project, in collaboration with the partner financial entities, over the next six months.
The two million Euro is the first tranche dedicated to the financing product “Would Impact”out of a total financial support of EUR 10.7 million provided by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, through the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and managed by KfW.
The contribution is of a non-repayable nature and aims to foster the sustainable development of the SME sector in the Republic of Moldova.
To this end, ODA has initiated the process of signing contracts with partner financial entities in order to ensure the transfer of the necessary resources to finance eligible entrepreneurs who will access the “Fom Impact” product.
The fresh impact finance product provides advantageous financial conditions, such as loans ranging from lei 200.000 to RON 5.000.000, competitive fixed interest rate of 5.5 % or 6 % annually, interest reductions depending on the number of jobs created, as well as repayment terms of up to ten years.
During the first phase of the project “Facility for the Development of SMEs in the Republic of Moldova”, it is estimated that at least 100 SMEs across the country will receive concrete support to modernise and expand productive capacities, helping to create more than 200 new jobs. In addition, a minimum of 20 % of lending to SMEs will be granted to women-led/managed SMEs, which will contribute to improving gender equality in the business environment.
Funding will be provided through local partner banks in national currency, and the entire facility is managed by ODA.
The new financing product was developed as part of the project with expert support from the German Frankfurt School of Finance & Management under the consultancy contract (amounting to EUR 0.7 million) signed in December 2024, funded under the project.
