Educational programme for entrepreneurs “Trial and Error”, successfully tested in the Republic of Moldova
More than 30 Moldovan entrepreneurs benefited from an educational programme on overcoming the business crisis run by ODIMM through Danube Transnational Project DanubeChance2.0.
The Entrepreneurship Education Programme was developed by a consortium of business support institutions from 11 Central and Eastern European countries and dedicated to companies in difficulty. For 3 weeks, domestic entrepreneurs were guided in building capacity for sound business planning and efficient management of company resources. At the same time, 5 local companies will benefit from business acceleration services, through which business experts will mentor entrepreneurs in the process of business revitalisation or restructuring.
“I am continuously working on improving tools to support entrepreneurs in difficulty. Mentoring and advisory services help entrepreneurs understand their risks and face the challenges posed by the pandemic crisis. Experts in the field will guide entrepreneurs in the process of business revitalisation and restructuring ", says Minister Sergiu Railean.
Business support institutions also received training and dialogue on measures to support entrepreneurs in crisis. The event brought together representatives of central and local public administration, financial-banking institutions, business incubators, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which contributed to the development of a business-friendly ecosystem, facilitating the reintegration of entrepreneurs in crisis into the economic circuit.
“Financial support as well as specialised training or advice to replan resources, digitalise the business and enter new markets is paramount to minimise the effects of the crisis. In this regard, the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, together with ODSMEs, have launched several support instruments for entrepreneurs affected by the crisis. At the same time, we are currently working on the development of the first Early Warning Mechanism which will provide consultancy and mentoring services for companies in difficulty, "said Iulia Costin.
The topics addressed during the event concerned the existing programmes for the business environment as well as the measures needed to support entrepreneurs in crisis. The problems and constraints faced by entrepreneurs as a result of the crisis were also discussed, and the actions needed to revitalise businesses were identified.
The DanubeChance2.0 project – “Accepting failure to facilitate entrepreneurs’ access to second chance in the Danube Region” is co-financed by the European Union through the Danube Transnational Programme. The project aims to develop second chance entrepreneurship policies and practical solutions to avoid the loss of entrepreneurial potential and overcome the stigmatisation of entrepreneurs after business failure. The main results of the project are: development of a strategy on access to second chance for entrepreneurs in the Danube region, development of the educational programme for the Trial and Error Academy and launch of the business restructuring initiative.
