Economic operators can apply for compensation for electricity
As of today, 3 February, economic operators can apply for compensation for electricity.
The government will compensate 50 % of the increase in the electricity tariff for a 3-month period (January, February and March 2025); according to the Commission Decision on Exceptional Situations of 27 January 2025.
Agricultural producers and processors and enterprises in the manufacturing sector (not directly those involved in the production process) are eligible for compensation.
The basic activities of economic operators eligible for compensation are described in the Moldovan Economy Activities Classification (CAEM-2), as follows:
- Agriculture, forestry and fishing: 01.11-01.64, except 01.15;
- Manufacturing: 10.11-23.20, except 10.41; 10.42; 11.01-12.00; 18.20-19.20; 20.30-20.59.
Another important eligibility criterion for economic operators is that electricity expenditure in 2024 represented at least 3 % of the undertaking’s revenue.
The application for the submission of compensation for electricity shall be completed online, in the EVO application or on the MCabinet portal, where a new module is available – compensations.
Also here, the status of applications can be followed: from submission to approval and payment.
To complete the application, the economic operator will need the following information:
- Invoice number from supplier and NLC
- Invoice series, number and date if you do not have NLC and electricity consumption was re-invoiced
- Quantity consumed by electricity. The application deadline is 10 days from the date of issuance of the electricity invoice.
The Regulation on how to compensate can be found, following the following link:

The compensation will be transferred directly to the company’s bank account, based on the data provided in the application.
